Lidia
Bachata · Salsa
Passionate about dance since childhood, Lidia began her training at the age of 14: Hip-hop, Jazz, Funck, Latino. As a teenager, she took part in numerous shows and in national and international competitions. Her degree in clinical psychology and her work as an assistant at the University of Liège have given her a sensitivity to others and teaching skills that she puts to good use in her dance classes. Lidia then specialised in Afro-Caribbean dances and devoted herself full-time to this art, which became her profession.
Lidia and Diego perform numerous salsa and bachata shows in Belgium, but also abroad. They are Adeps-certified teachers and take part in many competitions. In 2018, they became certified WDSF judges. 2019: first place in choreography at UBOF France, 2nd at UBOF France. In 2019, 2nd at the Bachata Open France. In 2020, they became Benelux champions. In 2021, 2nd at the Bachata Lyon Festival.
In July 2019, they created and shaped "The Embassy Room Brussels" to turn it into a leading artistic and events venue in the capital.
Diego
Bachata · Salsa
It was in 2009, during a trip to Colombia where he attended the Fiera de la Salsa de Cali, that Diego discovered dance. It was not only a reconnection with his roots, but also love at first sight. His first dance steps were learnt with family and friends. He then signed up for dance classes at various dance schools in Belgium, but also at numerous festivals abroad. In 2011, he won the Bachata Belgium amateur competition.
Keen to keep moving forward, Lidia and Diego perform numerous salsa and bachata shows in Belgium, but also abroad. They are also Adeps-certified teachers and, in 2018, received their certification as WDSF judges. Together, they take part in and win many bachata competitions: 2019, first prize in choreography at UBOF France, 2nd at UBOF France; 2nd at the Bachata Open France. In 2020, Benelux champions. In 2021, second place at the Bachata Lyon Festival.

Sonja
Kizomba
Sonja first got in touch with Luso-African dances in 2006 during her studies of languages, international relations and history in Coimbra/Portugal. As a devoted Salsa dancer she initially suffered from the lack of Latin dance opportunities until she discovered the African night clubs. Fascinated by the rhythm and sensuality, she became addicted to the Kizomba music and dance, not missing a chance to join those parties.
Apart from her African dance partners in Portugal, Sonja owes a special tribute to her main mentors that over time had huge influence: Helio Santos, Miguel Monteiro, Mestre Petchu, from whom she received the official certificate of Semba and Kizomba instructor in 2012, and most recently Paulo Isidoro. Sonja has been invited to teach, apart from numerous cities in Belgium and Germany, also in France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Tunisia, Switzerland, Egypt, Tenerife, Mauritius, Italy, Portugal, Estonia, Finland and the Congo.
Alex
Lindy Hop
Always in search of harmonious movement, and after a few years studying various martial arts, Alex discovered swing and, in particular, Lindy Hop. A passion for the energy, the joy and the rhythm struck him straight away and he immediately threw himself into the local Brussels community, organising, teaching and promoting events and shows. He also developed a real interest in the music and in the community of dancers of the golden age, the 1930s.
Having had the opportunity to learn from international teachers and "old-timers" and to take part in some fifteen competitions, today he in turn teaches abroad from time to time and sits among the judges. Alex trains regularly with the Old Soulz troupe, with whom he has performed many times since it was formed in 2018, which allows him to keep learning new things and to remain humble and generous.
